Who we are

Registration and payment

Registration and payment for scheduled classes happen on the pages of our registration provider, and that provider’s terms apply to the payment itself. This site never takes a payment and never holds card details.

Tuition for the full forty-hour Court Security Specialist course is $495 per officer. One-day courses are $99 and half-day courses are $50. An agency may register by purchase order, which holds the seat; payment is due on the invoice terms.

The minimum, and the confirmation

A hosted forty-hour class runs on a minimum of 15 paid registrations, confirmed 14 days before the first class day. If the minimum is not confirmed by then, the class is rescheduled and the host owes nothing. Registrants are told at the same time and are moved to the new dates or refunded in full.

Refunds and transfers

A registration cancelled more than fourteen days before the class is refunded in full. Inside fourteen days there is no refund, but the seat may be transferred to another officer from the same agency, or the registrant may move to another scheduled class. Ask by email and we will arrange it.

Hosting

The terms that govern a hosted class, including dates, what the host provides, tuition-free seats and cancellation, are in the Host Agency Agreement, which we send with proposed dates. Where that agreement and this page differ, the agreement governs.

Eligibility and range safety

The practical exercise and practical firearms courses are open to active sworn peace officers, and to civilian court security personnel with law enforcement experience, who have qualified with a firearm through an agency within the past twelve months. Every participant reads and signs the range rules before the live-fire day, and an instructor may remove any participant from the range or the scenario for a safety violation without refund.

Photographs

Photographs may be taken during a class and used on this site and in our own class materials. A participant who does not want to appear tells the instructor on the first day and will not be photographed. No agency seal, logo or endorsement is implied by any photograph.

Training records and reporting

We provide rosters and completion documentation to the host. We do not report training to TCOLE or to any other state commission, and we do not arrange reporting. Hours are reported by the host, where the host is a licensed training provider or academy, or by each officer’s own department. The Court Security Specialist certificate is applied for by the officer, to TCOLE, after completing the seven courses. Our courses are eligible for TCOLE credit hours and follow the TCOLE Court Security Specialist curriculum.
